President Bush: Go Away Quietly. Please. Just Go, and Shut Up (all important)
Referring to President Bush, the present main headline on Drudge is "The Long Goodbye". I think it is meant sarcastically. Whether it is meant sarcastically or not, that is the only rational way to read it, when juxtaposd witht he Drudge info above the headline that Bush is requesting Congress to release the rest of the $350 billion bailout money after Paulson totally misrepresented how he was going to use the first $350 billion (not one dime of which was used as outline in the 3 week farce of a Congressional "debate" over a proposed government purchase of "toxic assets" that never happened--in favor of the even more direct socialism of government ownership and "investment" in certain favored big businesses).Although this blog is often sarcastic, sarcasm is not adequate here. I am reduced to direct begging. To President Bush: "I am begging you. Go away quietly. Shut up. Slink silently into the night, after hiding out until Obama is sworn into office. Stop sabotaging conservatives and the Republican Party. Hide in shame. I am running out of reponses to my brother, who keeps calling you the worst President in at least a hundred years (which would include Herbert Hoover), if not the worst President of all time. Every word you say merely undermines what you supposedly believed in, and obviously never did. You, yourself, have admitted that you feel you have to betray free market principles in order to "save" free markets--a typically stupid way to put things--typical of you--but at least this time stlupidity discrediting the Democratyic view that you insist on promoting. Why do you not have the decency to let the Democrats make their own case. Why do you insist on promoting their case to the very end, including being the front man for Obama to get that next $350 billion. Just go away quietly. Please go away quietly. I beg you. I am on my knees here. Shut up. Please. I want to retain the shreds of respect I still have for you."Yes, to the very end Bush is acting for leftists, and sabotaging conservatives. I can't take it any more. As reflected above, I am reduced to begging. Worse, readers of this blog know I do not pray, although I am not so rude to want to denty people comfort who are religious (unlike bigoted leftistsl). When others pray, I bow my head and simply do not pray. However, with President Bush, I have almost been reduced to prayer. You know the old cliche' about there being no atheists in foxholes. I don't think I would pray in a foxhole. But it shows you how badly I think of the end of the Bush Presidency that I am tempted to pray now. It is that bad. The man just has to shut up. He is doing his best to destroy everything in which I have ever believed (except on foreign ppolicy). I am on my knees begging for President Bush to shut up--both until the end of his Presidency and afterward. Already on my knees, I am afraid I am going to become as hypocritical as Nancy Pelosi, and other leftists, and pray (when I don't believe in faith at all, which is not to say that I am confidenct God does not exzist--an arrogance of which I am not capable). This blog noted, in a fairly recent entry, that we needed to again buy oil for the Statregic Oil Reserve, at $40 a barrel, as the only rational thing to do when President Bush wanted (stupidly) to keep buying oil up to $140 a barrel. Well, my brother tells me that the government resumed buying oil for the Reserve within a week of my blog entry (a strangely ratiional act which suggests that President Bush may read this blog). Can I convince President Bush to shut up? Experience suggests I cannot, but the reaction to my Strategic Oil Reserve entry gives me a small ray of hope. If he has ever listened to me, or if any of you who read this hafve accesss to him (the more logical explanation for the Strategic Oil Reserve success), then he needs to listen to me now. If President Bush wants to maintain any goodwill out here in the country, he just has to shut up.
