CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Dec. 16) - Winter storm warnings were issued from New Jersey to Nevada early Tuesday as frigid temperatures, sleet and snow spread to virtually all corners of the nation.
The arctic air that blustered across the Midwest and West on Monday — dropping temperatures in some places 30 degrees

The above is the present AOL summary of the present weather in the U.S. See the previous entry about how the "global warming" faithful in the mainstream media selectively report weather events. All "warming" events, or events which can be slanted to have something to do with "warming"--when they do not, are related to "global warming". Everything else (snow in New Orleans and Houston in December, or whatever) is merely "weather", with no "global warming" significance at all.

It is not, of course, even winter yet.

As stated in the previous entry, "global warming" religious priests, like Al Gore and Barack "World" Obmaa, pretty much ignore that there has been NO "warming" trend in the U.S. since records began. Oh, recent decades have averaged toward the warm side, but 1936 remains the warmest year ever recorded in the U.S. (in a virtual tie with 2006). Temperatures in the U.S. have tone up and down over the entire last 120 years (see the chart in Michael Crichton's "State of Fear"). There is no consistent warming trend. The last two years have been pretty cool in the U.S.--continuing the "no trend" ttrend.

Yes, "global warming" priests (including scientists) pretty much try to ignore the U.S. lack of a temperature trend--no "glboal warming" here. However, I have seen the matter addressed a few times. What is the "explanation" for the U.S. not being part of "global warming"? The "explanatioin" is that the U.S. is only 6% of the Earth's surface, and therefore the lack of warming trend in the U.S. is nothing more than "weather" variation--an "explanation" that "global warming" priests ignore for, say, the summer ice melt at the North pole.

Take heart, however, you religious faithful of the "global warming" religion. El Paso reached toward 60 degrees yesterday, and may again today. Now that is just slightly above normal for December in El Paso, but I am sure it is conclusive evidence to "global warming" priests that their religion stands unchallenged.

P.S. It is not just December in the U.S. Charlotte, North Carolina had the coldest November since records began, and it was a very cold November in many parts of the U.S.--typical of a year that was by no means an exhibit for "global warming".
