Fox News and the Budget: Pathetic Performance

Yes, this is an example of my foresight again. Realy, it has been a long time ago now that I first suggested Fox News is not worth watching on a regular basis. No, the rest of the mainstream media is even more hopeless, but Fox is getting worse. Even tonight (Friday night), Fox was still "reporting" about as badly as you can report. Juan Willians REPEATED his bone deep stupid, and dishonest, remark that "environmental" issues are "social issues". This is not to mention the hypocrisy of Williams, shared by the left, that OBAMA is okay out there pusing his fraudulent view of using the environment to push anti-capitalist measures, while Republicans are somehow supposed to be ignoring the "real issues" when they try to stop Obama. Again, no one on Fox challenged th obvious partisan stupidity of Williams, who really should be on CNN (except he is not the only really stupid person on Fox, who buys into various leftist "talking points" without any intellectual depth). Yes, Bill O'Reilly, on Friday night, repeated the Fox STUPIDITY that it matters (much) whether the parties are "close" on the NUMBER of dollars to be cut. O'Reilly harrassed a poor Republican member of Congress about not telling O'Reilly what the NUMBER difference is that they were fighting over. Nope. O'Reilly you are BONE DEEP STUPID (along with all of Fox) on this one. The overall number is almost IRRELEVANT. The question is WHERE the "cuts" are made, and whether they are REAL> The Speaker of the House got this one right, and Fox ignored him ever after he made that correct "smoke and mirrors" comment. Fox was just DETERMINED (because it is Fox, and incompetently worried mainly about ratings) not to get into the "wees" on what this fight is about. That made the Fox coverage MEANINGLESS, and WORTHLESS. The "wqeeds" are all that mattered. Fox obviuosly thought that the botom line NUMBER, although pretty much meaningless (unless it was agreed upon that we are talking aplles and apples, which Fox never established), was the only number that people could understand. Fox obviously lthinks that bright line, obvious "bottom lines" are what people want to hear, and not either real facts or meaningful discussions. Yes, I AM saing that the people of Fox pretty much have contempt for the intelligence of their viewers. And that is especially true of O'Reilly (although O'Reilly gets credit for doing a better job of esplcaining why it is INSANE to continue to fund Planned Parenthood and NPR than wimpy Repubican politicians). I could give you further examples of the incompetence of Fox coverage, but it is not worth it. For example, Fox paid too much attention itself to Planned Parenthood, obviously simply following the lead of the mainstrream media--not, of curse, reeaching the level of the CNN Big Lie, because that was almost impossible, despite the attempts of Juan Williams). And there was that disgraceful story about Federal employeees having to immediately turn in their BLACKBERRY (horrors!!!!!), in the case of a government shut down. This was all over the whole media, including Fox, and it was STUPID. Enough. I have to stop, or this will never end. Suffice it to say that I repeat my evaluation of Fox: Not worth watching, on a regular basis, as the people of Fox are both uninterested in FACTS and uninterested in "truth". They are mainly interested in "ratings". Fox is neither an effective advocacy of conservatism or a reliable reporteer of the "news". Nor is Fox a reliable dexcriber of the real issues. Like all of the rest of the media, Fox relies way too much on polls (all of which are both meaningless and evil). Now do you want to know what I really think? I have this problem of holding back my real opinions because I am to nice. Why is Fox getting worse? I think it is because Fox is both trying to become more "respecdted" among other "journalists", and because Fox is more and more ratings driven as higher ratings become harder. I would expect Fox "growth" to begin to fade, as people realize what is going on. Except for actually presenting conservative voices, without unfairly savaging them (although O'Reily did that--merely emphasizing Fox Stupidity, trying to pressure that meaningless "number" from that Repubican politician tonight), Fox is pretty much becoming indistinguishable from the mainstream media. That is NOT a compliment.
