Juan Williams and CNN: Dishonest Political Hacks (Global Warming as a "Social Issue"--lol)

Bear with me by carefully reading this logical syllogism: 1. We (Juan Williams, CNN and other leftists) believe that we have convinced "enlightened" people that only HICKS worry about "social issues", rather than worrying about "important" things. 2. Those things that are identified as "social issues" can be used to discredit issues, and people, stuck with that label. 3. (logical conclusion): Therefore, we, as leftists, need to tar Republicans, and the Tea Party, with paying too much attention to "social issues" in this budget fight--no matter how absurd that contention is. No, the above is not a perfect syllogism of deductive logic ("All men are stupid. I am a man. Therefore, I am stupid."). But you should get the point. Segue to Juan Williams. I HEARD him on Fox News (without challenge, again showing that Fox News is part of the problem rather than part of the solution). Williams said (could never make this up): "Republicans are making a mistake by pushing SOCIAL ISSUES like "global warming", instead of concentrating on budget issues." (or words exactly to that effect). Say what? I did not know that Obama was out campaigning today (while the government burned) pushing a SOCIAL ISSUE. Yes, Obama was out today pushing his view of the fraud of "global warming", and the need to have an alternative energy policy. I know that Obama puts this--stupidly--as a way to create an economic utopia by building an economy around "green energy", but that does not change that this is the very same issue that Republicans are trying to address in the budget battle (taking funding away from the EPA to do what Democrats in Congress could not do). Republicans--correctly, in this case--believe that an EPA run amok, using undemocratic means, will DESTROY the economy. Now you can take whatever side of this issue you want to take--although you know what I think of you if you buy into the FRAUD of "global warmng", but it is beyond absurd to call this a "social issue". Now I do think Juan Williams is an intellectually dishonest political hack. But this is so absurd that I have to consider the possibility that he is not so much dishonest as he is BONE DEEP STUPID. He wanted to put out leftist propaganda--knowing the leftist syllogism I set forth above--but he was incapable of making it plausible. The dishonest political hacks of CNN did it a little better earlier in the day, showing that Williams WAS repeating one of the leftist talking points here. CNN put it this way: "It is not just budget matters that are involved in this fight, as Republicans have used the opportunity to purse SOCIAL ISSUES like abortion". CNN then listed the "polilcy riders" the House put in the budget bill: Defunding Planned Parfenthood, Stopping the EPA from ruining the economy over "greenhouse gases", defunding ObabaCare, and maybe one other. It is significant that CNN left out "defunding NP, CPB, and the National Endowment of the Arts. That is because even CNN--trying for good propaganda--knows that no one WANTS the Federal Government to fund those ELITISTS in the arts, and on public radio and television. And the public is right. When we are trying to CUT everything, that kind of stuff merely uses money that could go to the poor for the benefit of elitist leftists. But, you will notice, NONE of these issues is a "social issue". They ALL are directly related to Congressional authorization of FUNDING, and Congress is supposed to control the spending of the Federal Government. But it goes beyond that. Whether you think that ObamaCare (Obama's health care bill) should be "defunded", it is absurd to suggest it is a "social issue". Ditto theEPA. and greenhouse gases. Ditto funding for NPR, PBS, and the arts. Even the Planned Parenthood item is NOT directly related to abortion, but to a FUNDING issue. Planned Parenthood is not prvented from pushing abortions. Congress is just saying the taxpayers should NOT support Planned Parenthood, when there are so many other derserving uses of the money. These are all economic and budget issues, as ALL spending involves "policy". Republicans--correctrly--believe that ObamaCare is going to add a new entitlement that we can't afford--that will DESTROY our economy and the ability to ever control spending. Yes, the flaw here is that Republicans know that Democrats will never give up on ObamaCare, even though defunding ObamaCare will save more money than every other item combined. So tis is a Republican "fantasy wish" which cannot presently succeed. It is still not a "social issue". CNN and Juan Willilams MAADE THAT UP BECAUSE THEY ARE POLITICAL HACKS. Note that CNN was more clever than Williams. They started with the abortion example, and then talked as if Repubicans were interested in "social issues'. But when the CNN "reporter" went down the list, she acknowledged that "some" of these listed items are not "social issues"--without ever taking back the introductory LIE (from The Liar Network). Yes, there is a certain plausibility to connection Planned Parenthood and abortion, since Planned Parenthood is the most fanatic pro-abortion group in the country. However, Planned Parenthood has also shown itself to be a LAWBREAKING organization unwilling to comply with laws on reporting statutory rape, and other reporting laws. This is an EVIL organization, even apart from abortion. And it is an organization that can raise its own funding from leftists. It is absurd to support an orgaqnization like Planned Parenthood with TAXPAYER MONNEY. Abortion may be a "social issue", but taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood is NOT. Even if it were, note the BAIT AND SWITCH here. The Planned Parenthood item is only ONE "policy rider" that really is about spending taxpayer money rather than about abortion itself. But CNN USED the Planned Parenthood item to TAR the entire Repubilcan focus as being on "social issues". Shame on you, CNN, ecept I know you have no shame. These items are NOT "social issues", whatever their merits. They are taxpayer spending issues, and very economically important issues (in the case of EPA bureaucrat rules and ObamaCare). Not a hint of a "social issue" among them, except for the HINT of such an issue in the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood. Read the opening syllogism again. Is it not obvious that CNN and Juan Williams have attempted false propaganda here? Of course it is obvious, and they know it. Notice that CNN seems to be saying that DEMOCRATS are willing to shut down the government just to keep TAXPAYER FUNDING for Planned Parenthood. Who is it that is really making the "social issue" of abortion such a big deal that taxpayer funding for such a fanatic, lawbreaking organization is SACRED. Yes, the other CNN propaganda item is that some of these items are SMAL (which wuld no include ObamaCare or the effect on the economy of pushing down our throats the fraud of "global warming" measures). Here, however, the principle first announced by Everett Dirksen, when I was young, applies: "A billion here, and a billion there--pretty soon you are talking about real money." P.S. No proofreading or spell checking (eyesight). P.P.S. Bill O'Reilly continues to be a pompous ass, as this blog has shwon repeatedly. O'Reilly suggested that these people who obtained undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood as a lawbreaking organization should not have "lied" to obtain their information (an "ethic" unknown to every movie abut "journalists" ever made, and unkown to FBI and law enforcement "sting" operations. Yes, I DO knnow why O'Reilly said that. O'Reilly--while professing to not be part of the mainstream media--is very reluctant to really take on the mainstream media "establishment"--an establishment that has attempted to make a big point out of not liking information obtained by "lies". These people, of course, are the worst hypocrites who have ever walked the Earth, on two legs or four. Bill O'Reilly is not far behind them--a hypocrite himself who is only interested in O'Reilly. The mainstream media is UNINTERESTED in how information is obtained on CONSERVATIVES (such as the "prank" call on Governor Walker). No talkk about "lies". These are HYPOCRITES, and O'Reilly is little better. I have almost ceased to watch him, except brief surfing, as I have done the same with all of Fox News.
