Libya and Fox News: Fox News Proves Itself Incompetent Again

Yes, this is my week for really taking on Fox News. Oh, I have said the same things for years. But Fox has been getting worse=--definitely not worth watching regularly--and it has just happened that way. I watched Fox for about two minutes Saturday morning (mainly to get an idea of how the budget "deal" was going down, and finding NO useful informati on that). But I was assured I would get a "live" report on the situation on Libya, and I (foolishly) waited for that. That is the OUTRAGE that prompts this article on the continuing incompetaaence of Fox News. The woman anchor announced the GERALDO RIVERA (a disgrace to "journalism" ever since the days of Al Capone's vault) sotryline that we have a STALEMATE" Iin Libya. That is obviously the present Fox "storyline" ,, since we know Fox is not interested in reporting actua, factual informationn (independent of a storyline). The woman anchor was led into total idiocy by her obviuos knowledge of the Libyan storyline of the week on Fox. Doubt me? Don't. The woman anchor first said that there was this stalemate, and that we were going "live" to where rebels wre "advancing' on the oil port of Brega. Forget the internal inconsitency here, as it is not important. The utter CONTRADICTION of the actual film report is important. It is like Fox "News" anchors are not interested in whatever facts their on-site reporter is reporting--as I am convinced they are not. Not only did the on-site reporter not talk about the rebels "advancing" on Brega, but he reported that the rebels were in wild RETREAT from Brega, which was ow FIRMLY in the gands of pro-Gadhafi forces. The report from the on-site reporter also noted that Gadhafi forces were continuing to advance on the next town, as they push the rebels back near the point that they were when the "coalitioin" intervened with air strikes. Yes, CNN did BETTER last night, with a DISMAAYED on-site report that the rebels were in disorganized retreat (running away, really), and that the rebels seemed incapable of stopping the Gadhafi forces. CNN, of curse, has long ROOTED for the rebelswith outrageous propaganda, including that sanctimonious hypocrite, Anderson Cooper (who just recently realize that FIRING INTO THE AIR is NOT the sign of a real military force--something this blog told you weeks earlier). The point here is that the anti-American CNN will not even "root" for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. But they are perfectly willing to put out obvioius propaganda in favor of rebels as to whom CNN has not clue--and is making little effort to get a clue. Yes, if you remember, I want Gadhafi to LOSE, and be driven from power, atlhough I told you (and CNN), in foresight, thqt we MISSED our best chance to do that, with a minimum initial loss of life, when Obama waited for the rebels to be on the verge of dEFEAT before action. Now they are pretty much on the verge of defeat again, according to CNN and the article today from the despicable AP. Even though I favor ed using this opportunity to get rid of Gadhafi, when we had the obvious chance and when the whole country was in revolt (including parts of Tripoli), my eyes have always been open (as distinguished from the perpetually closed eys of both CNN and Fox). As I have stated weeks ago, the "rebels" have shown themselves to be nothing but a MOB. That not only means that getting rid of Gadhafi might bring in al-Qaida (despite those propaganda "interviews" by the despicable Cooper), but--at best, getting rid of Gadhafi means MOB RULE (French Revolutioni style). At least, that is what it means until someone asserts control, and it is impossible to predict who that will be. What we should ahve been doing, of course, is gettyig rid of Gadhafi at the same time we tried to GENTLY affect who would then take control. Obama: too little, too late.. My position is: Get rid of one enemy at a time--the position we took on Hitler. What is the WORST thing abut those rebel WHINERS? Come on. You know this one. It is how ARROGANT they are--probably because Obama comes across as such a wimp. The rebels have been acting as if they have the RIGHT to DEMAND exactly how we should use military force on their behalf. Nuts. They do not. There is NO way I would "arm" these people--a MOB. If I armed anyone--doubtful at this point--it would be carefully selected people who we had reasonto know were on OUR SIDE (unlikely that we have such knowledge). But Fox News is not going to help youj determine what is happening in Libya. It is another PATHETIC performance for Fox News, which seems most proud of the STUPID videos of Gealdo ducking bullets (another disgraceful highlight in a career filled with that kind of "highlight", instead of with real, honest reporting). You get the feeling that the only reason Geraldo went to Libya was for that video footage. Yes, I am a terrible cynic. I would not be surprised, although I have no reason for suggesting it besides the obviious, if Geraldo ARRANGED to have bullets fired over his head. What Gerado has failed to do, as usual, is bring any real insight into what is happening in Libaya. Is Libya a "sttalemate"? That appears to be a USELESS assessment of the situation. Yes, the government forces have not "won". The rebels still exist. But first the air strikes enabled the rebels to advance, and now the government forces appear to be advancing--as the rebels RUN in PANIC. That is NOT a "salemate". It is a fluid situation which MYAAY end up in an eventual stalemate, but has not yet stabilized. Even CNN is not disguising that situation (although some on CNN may be). Instead of "storyline", we desperagely need FACTS. NO media source is giving them to us. And no, I see no reason for propaganda, just because it would be good to get rid of Gadhafi. Such propaganda might sometimes makes sense on behalf of AMERICANS (despite the horror of the hypocrites at CNN to this view). Propaganda on behalf of a Libyan mob is not my idea of responsible "journalism".
