Democrats are calling this Wall Street bailout bill the "President's bill".
What does that mean, besides confirming that President Bush has become a saboteur of conservatives, as he was on the Democrat immigration bill?
It means that Barack "World" Obama is the person really running for President Bush's "third term." No, I am not saying that John McCain is so very much better, but there is no doubt that this Wall Street bailout bill is a Democrat bill, crafted by Democrats (see next entry), for Democrats, based on Democrat principles. That was equally true of the immigration bill (where Obama tried the same ducking strategy, as he let McCain take the heat while pusing every leftist measure there was).
Therefore, on the two most important issues front and center right now, President Bush, Obama, and the Democrats are in lockstep. Democrats want the Federal takeover of the economy represented by the Wall Street bailout bill (a Democrat bill). And Democrats want open borders, and encouragement of illegal immigration, as represented by the defeated immigration bill (a Democrat bill).
In both cases, a President Bush who has abandoned all principle has been willing to accept anything the Democrats wanted to put in the bill (even more than McCain on the immigration bill). Yes, I am being brutally hones here, and President Bush has basically admitted it. President Bush is willing to accept any Democratic provisions acceptable to Democrat Paulson, because President Bush has been scared into betraying every conservative principle just so he can say he got a bill (Bush being scared of going down in history as another Herbert Hoover--preferring to go down in history as the Benedict Arnold of the conservative movement, as he already has been on everything from earmarks and government spending to immigration).
President Bush is now a Democrat. He has always been a Big Government guy. He was willing to accept any Democrat provisions in the immigration bill. He has never stood up against Democrat spending (much less conservative spending), until meaningless gestures at the very end of his term. Bush has allowed Democrat Paulson to propose what my younger daughter has called a "Communist" bailout of Wall STreet, which she says is obvious even to leftist New York City residents. It is obvious to her, and she is not a conservative. Even on foreign policy, there is no real present difference between President Bush and Obama, except for "World" Obama's insistence that we bow to the whole world's desires as to what we do (including providing them money, which is again not that different from Bush's providing of taxpayer money to Africa and Mexico).
Nope. There is just no doubt. Barack "World" Obama is running for President Bush's third term. That is true from everything from the Democrat Wall Street bailout bill to the Democrat immigration bill (which Obama will make even more Democrat, although President Bush would have accepted those Democrat provisions had they been able to be passed) to the Democrat concept of using American taxpayer money to "bail out" the world.
Vote Democrat!!! You will get President Bush's third term, only worse (more "world" control of our foreign policy, along with more ACLU protection for terrorists). Vote Republican, and you will get......what? That is the problem. It is less likely you will get Bush's third term. On spending alone, McCain is likely to be better. But neither will you get conservative principles, as Republicans (other than some in the House and a very few in the Senate) have pretty much lost their soul).
Sort of depressing, isn't it. But be my guest. Vote for Obama if you want Bush's thrid term, and show my brother (who thinks Bush is one of the worst Presidents ever) what a really bad President looks like.
