Read my previous article, and consider again the OUTRAGE of my 89 year old mother at Herbert hoover, George W. Bush and Barack Obama for worrying so much about helping th eWORLD when this country is in so much trouble. Then consider how RIGHT this blog has already been proven, in less than 224 hours, as a mere ten seconds (literally) listening to MSNBC this morning proved.
After yoiu read the previouis article, yoiu may think tkhat: "Oh, Skip is off on a personal vendetta against Andrea Mitchell and MSNBC,. Sure, Andrea Mitchell and MSNBC were trying to USE Gadhafi's death to attack Republicans and support Obama, but we all know that is what MSNBC and NBC do. Skip is blowing it out of all proportioin."
Hah. MSNBC is not known as The Obama Network for nothing. Sure, you expect this sort of thing from MSNBC, and parent NBC, but that does not change that you can get INSIGHT into current leftist/Obama "hot button" thinking from MSNBC. Thus, we come to the panel discussion this morning, where I heard those ten seconds of leftist, Obama-type, "thinking" from a woman (to nodding heads around the table): "We neeed to how SHIFT our aid to Egypt and Libya from military aid to creating jobs. This will help us by creating stability in the region."
I could never make this stuff up. We do not have the money. Any money we use to try to "create jobs" (lol) in Libya and Egypt will be money we don't have--money we have to borrow from China (or wherever), mortgaging OUR future. Remember that Andrea Mitchell said Friday that this was what HillaryClinton was PROMISING Libya. And note the hubris, and simple insanity, here. First, there is the assujmption that it is our responsibility to "create jobs" for the entire world--not, as we usually have done, by creating the engine of the free world economy with our free enterprise system, but by GOVENMENT action. Then there is the typical leftist assumption that all we have to do is wave a magic wand--pour in money we don't have from the inexhaustible supply the left assumes exists--to "create jobs". As stated in yesterday's article, Libya has OIL, plus billions of dollars that Gadhafi stashed around the world (and which was frozen). The problem here is NOT a problem of "creating jobs", which government cannot accomplish anyway. The problem for Egypt, Libya and the rest of the Muslim world is to create a SYSTEM that works, so that the people themselves (along with foreign investors willing to invest) create jobs because they actually believe in their system. For the people to adopt thhe attitude of the leftist whores of MSNBC and NBC that they should look to the world to GIVE them jobs would be absolute disaster. It is iterally insane to think that way. It is pouring money down a rahole--money, again, that we do not have--to sned aid to "create jobs" in these Muslim countries.
Yes, you CAN argue that the "military aid" has been throwing money down a rathole, or at least severaly misguided. However, two wrongs do NOT make a right (that truest of all "white mddle class" cliches). Military aid at least has the excuse of spposedly helping the direct SECURITY intrestgs of the United States--part of the war against terrorism and Muslim extremisms. In practice, it may be misguided, but it is a concept that at least has a rational principle behind it. If we want people to help us against terrorism, we may have to provide them some of the resources to do it (if we can ever figure out how to do tis in an effective way). And if we have a friend like Israel, who needs help to survive, then it is in our ultimate interest to give such help (again, with the caveat that we may not be able to afford giving the same amount of help, for awhile, that we might be willing to give if we had the money).
But it is literally INSANE to say that we need to "create jobs" for the rest of the world. And these particular countries are countries in CHAOLS. Egypt has already turned toward being an enemy of Israle, and is well on its way to becoming our enemy. Libya is not presently a country. It is like Rance after the French Revolution: a "dountry" with various factions ready to seek revenge against each other and fight for control--except France was actually a more choesive country. Would it have made any sense to give economic aid to France, after the French Revolution, as the "madame guillotine" fell? Of course nnot. No, lyou people of the left, with yur infinie delusion about GOVERNMENT possessing a magic wand to cure all problems, are INSANE. I mean it. Under Einstenin's definition of insanity, you are INSANE. (Einstein on insanity: "doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a deifferent result").
Should we be doing our best to offer ADVICE, and coordiantion assistance (as distinguished from "aid") to try to help these countries devleop a viable SYSTEM? Of course. And we should PROMOTE (as Obama has failed to do, especailly in Iran) elements in these countries that are not only on our side, but which show evidence of potentially being able to move thier countries forward in the right direction. However, this does not bean that we can BRIBE those people--especailly with foreign aid. Again, that is inane. We need to learn how to promote our interests, wihout relying upon lining the pockets of people merely out for our money. This, of course, applies to military aid as well, where we need to learn how to keep such aid from coming back to bite us (if possible--and, if not, to basically scale down military aid, except to obvius FRINEDS like Isrel, since military aid to potential enemies has realy not worked well in the past).
Bottom line: Andrea Mitchell and MSNBC are leftist whores, and Republicans are right (as expressed in the last debate). We need to STOP most foreign aid. We do not have the money. Aid we do give should be speciviaclly targeted toward our own security intrests in the world, with the knowledge lthat trying to BRIBE our way to friends has never worked, and never will. Aid to Egypt and Libya is especailly INSNAE. Again, we are not talking aobut MINOR "in kind" help, or access to our intangible "advice" and non-monetary help (even though this may involve MINOR sot to us). We lhave to learn to stop throwing GOVERNMENT money (taxpayer money we do not have) at problems. Foreign aid is a goood place to start, although we need to simultaneously expand the concept to our domestic spending.
And what can you say about the idea that the American taxpayer has the obligatiion, or the resources, to crate jobs for the entire world? "Insane" is tookind a word. Tell it to my 89 yer ol other, who has hated Herbert Hoover all of her life, because he was off (to her perception, at least) promising assitance to the rest of the world, while my mother (then a young girl) did not have enough food to eat.
