Libya and the AP: Incompetent Propaganda

"Rebels celebrate victory in town near Tripoli."

"Gadhafi forces retake towns near Tripoli from rebel forces."

The above are tow headlines from the "Anti-American, Despicable Associated Press"/Yahoo "News". They show how INCOMPETENT today's mainstream media is. The first headline was this morning, and the second headline was this afternoon. The second story also called the rebels "poorly armed".

Why is this incompetnet? Oh, you should be able to figure this one out. The mainstream media is NOT INTERESTED IN FACTUAL INFORMATION. (see Michael Crichton's novel, "Airframe"). They are acting as CHEERLEADERS for the rebels in Libya, and the facts of what is going on are pretty much irrelevant.

Look at the above headlines. What in the Hell are rebels doing "cheering" a "victory" (presumbably with the cheering crowds you see cheering on TV in rebel held territory every night). If that is what was really happaning, it was beyond stupid. It was especailly stupid if pro-Gadhafi forces were in position to "retake" the town or towns from the rebels, and if the rebels were "poorly armed". This is not "journalism". It is propaganda.

No, I would never support Khadafi (my choice out of 19 possible spellings). He is a madman. In fact, Obama waited far too long to call four his ouster. BUT. These "journalists" are people who have refused to take sides on behalf of the UNTIED STATES in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. They have said that the job of "journalists" is to be "neutral". I actually disagree with that. But I do agree that real "journalists" should be interested in FACTS, and not propaganda. They should be looking at the real military situation, and not mere emotioinal optimism. That is not "news".

What is the actual military sit;uation? Howq is the rebel part of the country actually operating? How can you administer a country with nothing but cheering crowds in the streets.? How well armed are the rebels? How well led, and WHO is leading their military forces? I could go on and on. But you should see the point,. You simply cannot rely on the mainsrteam media for the FACTS. All they know is storyline and propaganda.

P.S. Note, as usual, that the above (and all articles today) has neither been proofread nor spell checked (eyesight).

P.P.S. No, I am not saying the despicable AP was being "Anti-American" in these particular articles. It was merely being incompetent. But I always set forth the complete, official name of the despicable AP in my first reference, unless there is an oversight. I assure you that the AP has earned its official name.
