See the previous entry about how Joe Biden lavishly praised Hillary Clinton's qualifications to be both Presdient and Vice President--saying not only that her qualifications might be superior to hem but that she might have been the "better pick" for VP. What is IMPLIED in those statements, of course, is that Hillary Clinton was better qualified than Barack "World" Obama to be the PRESIDENTIAL nominee.
At that same event, Biden said that Democrats would not be "Swift Boated" this year. You will remember that the main reason the leftist media disliked the Swift Boat Vets is NOT that they engaged in personal attacks, but that the leftist media reserves for itself the right to make personal attacks ON BEHALF OF DEMOCRATS. I digress (sort of).
Joe Biden went on to say at that (disastrous?) event yesterday that "Swift Boating" will not work this time because Biden is going "to smack them in the chops"!!!!!!!!
Let me get this straight. Did Biden just say that he was going to "smack Sarah Palin in the chops" if she says something he doesn't like in the VP debate?
I know. I know. Biden did not mean to say anything about "smacking" Sarah Palin, except figuratively. But what DID he mean to say? I don't think what he did say made any sense. The image of verbose Joe Biden, who also this week told Chuck Graham (a state senator) to "stand up", as he sat there is a wheelchair, smacking people in the chops just does not seem quite.......right.
P.S. Fox News needs to be careful. I have told you before that Fox News is "better" than CNN and MSNBC ONLY in that Fox News is more "balanced". I do NOT agree that Fox News is FAIR, or that Fox News reports "news", as distinguished from rumor, gossip, and personal attacks. Yes, sometimes Fox News will "expose" the other media for their bias and personal attacks, but then Fox News will turn right around and pick up on a mainstream media story that is disgraceful. I just heard a "Fox News Radio" "report" on a Swedish video showing John McCain in the process of being released from captivity in Vietnam. The Fox person, as if it MEANT something, said that McCain was shown leaving a bus, "with a limp, but NOT ON CRUTCHES". Say what? To me, that is a DISGRACEFUL thing to say. What the Hell does it mean. Has someone said that McCain was on crutches? Is McCain supposed to have said that? SO WHAT. Is the left going to start to say that McCain EXAGGERATED his experiences? Give me a break!!!! The Swift Boat Vets had a 1000% BETTER case that John Kerry exaggerated his experiences in Vietnam (to a degree he almost certainly did, but it had nothing to do with whether he should be President). Am I overreacting here? Maybe, but this struck me WRONG. This is a ONE MINUTE "news" cast. Why waster time saying that McCain was NOT on crutches (not on a stretcher either). My gut tells me there is an AGENDA here. If so, it is a truly disgraceful one. At best, this is incompetence. The FACT is that McCain walked out with a limp. The "not on crutches" reference is some sort of editorial comment for no purpose.
