PAYGO: Life and Death of a Great Country Converted into Orwell's "1984" in the Age of Obama

"1984" in 2009. You can even loook at how Obama waived his hand and CHANGED the bankruptcy laws of the United States (wtihout Congressional action) to deprive Chrysler's bondholders of their CONTRACTUAL rihgts--in violation of the Constitutioin's specific prohibition of "impairment of contracts", and ex post facto laws (not to mention "due process of law"). But I digress (as usual). This entry is about TODAY'S "press conference" (questions restricted) announcing that President Obama has "solved" yet another issue (he "solves" at least one per day) by adopting PAYGO.

The Democratic Party and Obama, you may recall, announced PAYGO long agon--the principle that the Federal Government should "pay as you go" like any normal person has to do, and as state and local governments have to do. That was some FOUR TRILLION in deficits ago. Is there any reason to believe that there willl be any better resutls because PRESIDENT Obama has now FORMALLY announced the same concept AGAIN? Of course not. But that is not the real clue that we are now LIVING in "1984"--where the Big Lie is routine.

What do you understand by "pay as you go", and what does Obama mean you to understand by "pay as you go"? Right. The WORDS mean, to any normal person, that the Fedeeral Government will not spend money it does not have, but only spend money it has in hand. That means NO budget deficit AT ALL, unless you are living in "1984". President Obama says that he supports legislation now in Congress making PAYGO "the law" of the land. President Obama also said thaqt he will cut the YEARLY budget deficit IN HALF by the end of his term. Forget that "emergency" spending, and clever con games with numbers (projected expenses and revenues) are going to make this "promise" a farce. The present year's budget deficit will be TWO TRILLION dollars. That means President Obama is "promising", in the same speech designed to promote "paying as you go", that the YEARLY budget deficit will be ONE TRILLION dollars by the year 2013.

Say what? How can that be? Is President Obama promising to VIOLATE the new law that he is supporting EVERY YEAR between now and 2013? Yes and no. You have to remember that we are now living in Orwell's "1984", even as the Soviet Union (uponi which Orwell based "1984", is criticizing US for failing to learn the Big Brother lessons that the old Soviet Union HAS learned. Yes, Russian (since the Soviet Union is now defunct, as central planning anf "five year plans" failied) leader Vladimir Putin has criticized us for expanding government too far. You can cut the irony with a knife. I know--I have digressed again.

Thus, we KNOW that we are NOT going to adopt "pay as you go", despite President Obama's rhetoric. Even in the Age of Obama, corresponding to living in "1984", what does this mean? It means that President Obama and the Democrats have expanded the budget deficit for 2009, and 2010, beyond all reason. Then they propose to use 2009 as a BASELINE to measure all future spedning. Yes, President Bush and the Republicans played a role in this escalating spending, but we are talking about the Big Lie of President Obama and the Democrats here. The idea is that any NEW spending must be "apid for" (even if you have to lie to do it, like with a new health care "system", about the costs, "savings", and revenue associated with the ne spending).

What is amazing, of course, is that, even with "184" speak, Democrats can probably not keep this "promise". In other words, deficits of one trillion dollars in 2013 will probably BANKRUPT us (on top of deficits from now until then). But I am absolutely confident that Democrats, and maybe Republicans, will find NEW "emergencies" that always push this "goal" back. Further, one way or another--law or no law--they will violate even their "1984" version of "pay as you go"--covering the violations with "emergency" rhetoric and/or false figures.

Can you remain optimistic in fhe face of this stuff? I can't. Rush Limbaugh says he can. More power to him, and the rest of you who manage to be optimistic is the face of Armageddon. Yes, to me we BEGAN the rush to Armageddon when Henry Paulson, and President Bush, abandoned every principle of this country starting with the use of fear of Armageddon being used to push the Paulson 700 billion dollar bailout plan and the FIRST of the many automaker bailouts. Then the rush to Armageddon was ACCELRATED by President Obama and the Democrats, who were the prime votes ofr lthe Bush panic in the first place.

Now I don't think we can avoid Armageddon. That is the price of actually living in "1984", otherwise known as the Age of Obama. But I don't want to depress you. Have a nice day.
