Social Security and the NBC/Obama Lie

See the previous article. One thing I skipped over, although it was implied: What is Social Security to Obama and NBC, if it is not the system set up by FDR?


That is an easy question to answer. For Obama, NBC, MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the left, Social Security is PAYMENTS to the elderly who are poor (or poor enough). For Obama and NBC, "Social Security" is NOT the SYSTEM (the self-financing system) set up by DR. It is, or should be, a WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION scheme to make welfare payments to certain peole, who are then expected to stay bribed and vote for leftists.


As the previous article describes, this concept of "Social Security" means ABOLISHING the current system of Social Security that has been in effect since FDR. And that is exactly what Obama and NBC intend to do, even as they PROJECT their own intention onto Rick Perry.


Now it may be that the present Social Security system is untenable, and that it has to be "abolished" one way or another. That does not change that Obama inttends to ABOLISH Social Security in the WORST way possible--putting a class warfare, wealth redistribution scheme in its place. I actually think that we CAN "save" the FDR concdept of self-funding Social Security, with some relatively mnor changes. Obama's "Debt Commission" came up with ways to do soemthing like that. Yes, that will mean raising the retirement age. But it CAN be done (at least for the intermediae future). Young people will pay more, and receive less, but the CONCEPT could be "saved". Obama and NBC are NOT proposing to "save" the concept. They are proposing to ABOLISH what FDR built.


Rick Perry is right that FDR SHOULD have built something else. However, Perry is also right that we may not be able to get there from here, and therefore it is probbly not worth talkihng about. Nevertheless, I will--at some lpoint--describe the RETIREMENT SYSTEM that should have been built instead of Social Security, where each person had a VESTED ACCOUNT.


You senior citizens out there (of whom I am ALMOST one, at 64), need to realize the bill of goods Obama i strying to sell you. Obama wants to ABOLISH Social Seucrity as part of an overall redistribution of wealth that will--soooner rather than later--DESTROY the ability of this country to "fund" AnY Social Security.
