Rick Perry

See my article last night on CNBC and teh Republican debate (the definitive article on the subject).

One thing I want to clarify is that I have not become one of teh evil "journalists" of the mainstream media. Ever since this blog began, I have crusaded against "gotcha' moments, and overhyped smears, and I continue to do so.

Therefore, hwen I talked about the demise of Rick Perry in my article last night, you should not take that to mean that I think it "deisaulifes" Rick Perry to be President that he had a mental blank. Notice that Perry did not say anything WRONG. All he had wsa the same kind of mental blank that we all have from time to time. That has NOTHING to do with whether Perry should be President. It matters a little more that Perry stood there like a pole-axed steer, rather than moving on (maybe with some self-deprecating quip). Still, even that is not even as bad as President Obama TWICE leaving out "by tehir Creatgor" in misquoting the Delcaration of Independence--not to mention Joe Biden saying that FDR "went on television" to reassure people after the stock market crashed in the Great Depression (before television was in existence, for the benefit of you leftists out atthere). Then there was Obama saying that hsi healh care plan would save busineeses "3000% on their health insurance premiums. Then there was the time Obama daid that 1000 people had died in that Kansas tornado, when something like 13 died. I could go on, but youu get th eidea. The diffeence is that the media COVERS for Obama, while they --and tahe Bush establishment wing of the Republican Party--are out to "get" Rcik Perry.

So why did I say it was over for Rick Perry? Well, what I actually said was that this blog had already TOLD you it was over for Rick Perry, before the debate, while CNN and the rest were still saying that the "race" was between Perry and Romney. In a previous article, I told you tatht if such were ture (which it was not), then the race was OVER--and Romney might as well be delcared the winner. The debate last night merely confirrmed what I told you.

Whny did it "confirm" it, if the relatively meaningless "gaffe" (a lie, since it was not a "gaffe,, but a mental block/momentarty memory loss) was not nearly as important as teh evil incompetents of the mainstream media (and Republican establishment) are telling you it was? It was the final death knell for Perry BECAUSE he was already dead (in this race), as this blog had told you. Prry needed a RESURRECTION, and that debate last night was essentially his last chan nce. That means that even a relatively small thing, like the mental blank he drew, while just standing there forever, was fatal. It aws not fatal because it was so bad in itself, but because Perry DESPERATELY needed to do some very GOOD things. Even apart from the "gaffe", Perry did not do that, and therefore all people are gong to remember is the "gaffe" (especially with the help of the mainstream media, and that Bush wing anxious to through Perry under the bus).

Q.E.D. Perry is dead (politically, kn tis race). As this blog has told you form the ery beginning, based on my observations of Perry over 30 years here in Texas, Perry is NOT IMPRESSIVE (in terms of being an advocate, ofr himself or any policies he favors). Sure, he has won elections IN TEXAS, and he has been an ADEQUATE governor of Texas. But the whole nation can now see--including the WRONG Rush Limbaugh--why I said Rick Perry would never be a conservative 'savior". Now had he run a good CAMPAIGN, and merely done adequately in the debates, he had a chance (based on his Texas record). But I always doubt that Perry could conceal his basic MEDIOCRITY, and I was right. He could not. The debate performance last night was just another example of Perry not being "impressive"--in fact, very unimpressive-at just the time he HAD to be more than impressive.

That is why I correctly suggested that Perry is dead (in tis race), as this blog had already told you weeks ago. I am not like the evil incompetents of the mainsteam media, tellng you that last night's debate "gaffe" means more than it does. It, alone, tells you NOTHING about whether Perry should be President. But Perry needed to be PERFECT, or even better than perfect, and he failed to rise to the occasion. Fatal, except he was already "dead" anyway.

P.S. No proofreading or spell checking (bad eyesight).
