Republican Party R.I.P.? John Boehner, Enemy? Rush Limbaugh Late Again?

This blog told you, months ago, what is WRONG with the Republican establishment/John Boehner apporach to the debt ceilihg, and other spending "netotiatioins". It is all abut the "bid deal": abut the "comperhensive deal" to CONCEAL that nothing is being done abut spending or the deficit. Every Republican who even mentions a ten year plan to reduce the deficit, or a long-term plan to balance the budget, should simply fall on his or her sword. That is Obama/Democrat speak, meant to FOOL people. And John Boehner has deliberately played into it. He did so in the disgracefull "netotiations" for the 2011 budget, and he is doing so now. How do we know he is doing this deliberately? Because Boehner--when Republicans took over the House, and during those negotiatons on the spending bills that Democrats never passed last year--PROMISED that the Republicans in the House would STOP these massive, continuing resoutioins and massive overall spending bills. Boehner said Republicans were gong to actually do 17 (or whatever) individual spending bills, in a way that people knew what Congress was doing, and yu did not have all of the sins concelased in one or tow massive bills. The evidence is that BOEHNER LIED, and that Boehner's only goal is the "politics as usual" "big deal" that tries to prove Lincoln worng: that you can fool all of the people all of the time.

This blog told yo what Republicans SHOULD have done. Republicans in the House have complete control of spending. Not ONE DIME can be spent unless Republicans in the House vote for it. This is really how the government was set up. Revenue bills originate in the House. This is nnot a matter of "compromise". If a spending authorization cannot pass the House, then the money SHOULD NOT BE SLPENT. If the Republicans in the House want to balance the budget, they can. They can simply refuse to spend more than our revenue. And NOBODY could do anything about it. Not the Preisdent. Not the Senate. Oh, they could hsut the governmentt down to FORCE psending, in violation of the way our system was set up, but they ultimately have no power to actually FORCE spending. One of Boehner's many sins-maybe fatal sins for the Republican Party--is his refusal to accept this concept. Instead, Boehner has bought into the "politics aS usua'", behind closed doores, "Big Deal". And the "fight" is not even over the individual SPENDING, but over some grand ten year design, with the debt ceiling as an EXCUSE to avoid another government shut down battle over spending for this next fiscal year (beginning in October). (No, you people in Ohio, I would NOT--repeat NOT--votge for John Boehner to be reelected, even if he is running against the Devil himself.)

Thus, what do you hear from Democrats, while Republicans keep suggesting that they are willing to buy into this fraud? You hear EVERY Democrat out thre saying not only that we need a "balanced approach", but that we need to enter into a "long-term" deficit reductin plan to give people "confidence" (lol) in the future. Translation: We want to FOOL the people with sham "cuts" far int he future, while we get the spending and tax increases we want NOW. But we--Obama and Democrass--want to say we actually reduced taxes by an extension of the WELFARE LPAYMENTS represented by that "temporary" "payroll tax deduction". In other words, Democrats want to extend the STIMULUS that Obama wrangled from Republicans--supposedly as the price Republicans had to pay for the extension of the Bush tax cuts. That Republican betrayal has INCREASED THE DEFICIT MORE THAN EVERY REAL CUT REPUBLICANS HAVE MANAGED. And Republicans--from all indications--are preparing to do it again. Deocrats want spending, and lthe deficit, for NEXT YEAR to be untocuhed, except for maybe Defense and some more sham cuts. Meanwhile, Democrats want the deficit to remain the same, if not increase. And Democrats want this to all be part of a "long-term" plan where Democrrats can say that they have "cut" 4 trillion dollars from the budget--where the cuts do not represent real "ucts", but either sham "cuts", or "cuts" TEN YEARS OR MORE FROM NOW, when this Congress will have no control. Yes, we should restructure Medicare, on the merits, but cuts to Medicare ten years from now will not affect the current deficit/debt crisis AT ALL. And Democrats are not going to agree to any real restructuring of Medicare now. It will all be smoke and mirrors. And if it is smoke and mirrors, the Republican Party is DEAD. Third party here we--people liike me--come. Nope. we will NOT care if it means the relection of Obama. At some point you have to stand up for Lincoln, and prove he wa right. I have long since reached lthat point, and John Boenher is even more of a fool than I thought he was if he does not realize how many people like me there are out here.

Won't there be any real slpending cuts in the Obama/Democrat/Boehner/McConnell plan? Yes, there will (although they may not turn out to be real). Obama has ALREADY SCHEDULED withdrawals from Iraq and Afghanistan. BUSH had alreeady scheduled the withdrawal from Iraq. Therefore, it is EASY to say you are "cutting" the budget of the Defense Department. You simply assume that we save all of this money on Iraq and Afghanistan. These are NOT real "cuts". They are not "shared sacrifice". Tihis is simply flim flam, where you ASSUME that we will get out of these wars without getting into others, nd be able to save all of this money In no real sense is this a "cut" in government spending. It is simply ending wars that politicians and the public were no longer going to support indefinitely anyway. Add this fraud to SHAM future "cuts", and you see how Obama and the Democrats plan to "spin" this "long-term deficit reduction plan", while not actually "cutting" current spending. If Republican polliticians buy into this--I am moreally certain Boehner already has--then the Republican Party is DEAD as a doornail. It will be, as I have said in the past, a dead party walking. Too many conservatives, by the way, purport to fall for this "payroll tax cut" or "payroll tax holiday". There is a sucker born every minute. That is merely a STIJMULUS which has FAILED, and its only real purpose is to enable Obama and the Democrats to falsely claim that they have "cut" taxes.

I actually heaard Rush Limbaugh, this morning, say that he had not picked up on all of this--this planned SELL OTU of the Tea Party people and conservatives. Rush obviously does not read this blog. Yet again, Rush is behind the curve. This blog has been continually telling you what happens with these "comprehensive deals". Republicans need to be fighitng spending item by item, but they simply do not WANT to. Again, NOT ONE DIME can be spent unless Republicans in the House agree to spend it. Trying to convince me this is wrong simply makes Republican politicians like Boehner my ENEMY. "But Skip, Republicans will lose that kind of battle. If Republicans don't 'compromise', they lose the next election." So what? Yes, that is what I said. There is the next election, and then there is savig this country. And we need to be saved not only from Obama and the Democrats, but frmo establishment Republicans. And Republicans are going t have a better chance in the next election standing up for their principles than they are BETRAYING the conservatives who elected them one more time.

Message to Republicans: There is one sure way to lose the next election. Enter into yet another sham deal where Obama aNd the Democrats go out and say they have "solved" the deficit problem. I will NOT vote for you (with the POSSIBLE exception of only Michele Bachmann). You are deluded if you think there are not a lot of people like me out here.

Message to Rsh Limbaugh: Don't you ever get tired of being BEHIND this blog--of being LATE to recognize what is going on. Republicans have been sending out signals all year that they are willing to trade "hard choices" for current spending in faovr of this sham "grand deal". If that comes as a shhock to you, and yo actually had to LOOK for the indications that this is happening. then you have let lthe conservative movement down, as you did by coming out LATE against Hohn McCain in 2008 (when this blog came out for Romeny IN TIME, and told you that your were betraying conservatives at the time). It is not enugh to have the right policy instincts, as Rush usually does. You need to SEE CLEARLY what is going on, and too often Rush does not.

You can see again that I am not wild abuot this "debt ceiling" fight, because it lends itself to this Grand Deception by Obama, Democrats, and establishment Republicans. Instead of concentrating, as should be dne, on CURRENT SPENDING (for next fiscal year), which is all this Congress can really cntrol, it is all about a "comprehesnive" deal to deceive the American people. No, I do not believe this is an accident. That is why I suggested that republicans align the debt ceiiling with the fiscal year--a short term "fix" to the beginning of October, and extend the debt ceiling year-by-year to corespond with the budget/spending cycle. Then INSIST on passing EVERY spending bill before the debt ceiling is raised. No, if you think structural things must also be done, be my guet. But you can't gt TRAPPPED into "grand deals". The structural changes should NOT obsure the current spending, and the debt ceiling should NOT ever be raised until every single spendin gbill for the next fiscal year has been passed. Republicans have the POWER to do this, and I will not forgive them if they do not. As I have already said, if we end up with anohter "omnibus spending bill", or "continuing resolution', then that is also a conclusive motivation for me to declare the Republican Party DEAD (to me, at leastl).

P.S. No proofreading or spell checking (bad eyesight). Isn't it interesting that Rush Limbaugh cannot hear, and I cannot see. Yet, I SEE CLEARLY, while Rush Limbaugh does not. And--desppite his protestations--Limbaugh LISTENS to establishment Republicans to whom I lend a deaf ear (except to understand what they are doing).
