This one is easy. It is so easy that I don't even know whether it should be figured in my 99.9% audited accuracy rating. As predicted last night in this blog, CNN-The Liar Network specializing in partisan propagana--has allreday instituted its full court press to 'spin" the Standard and Poors ratings downgrade as a message to Repubicans to throw conservatives/Tea Party people under the bus, and adopt the CNN/Obama "plan" for "getting our fiscal house in order" (the very Obama phrase parroted by CNN Friday night, after Obama used it in his speech on Friday). Note, as expected, that CNN has NOT criticized President Obama AT ALL for his performance, includn g UNDERMINING the very idea of "getting our fiscal house in order" with shi speech on Friday, and his radio address on Saturday (sse my blog article posted just as the ratting downgrade was being announced). CNN is talking aoub how Obama may be hurt politically (for presideing over this "unprecedented" humiliation), but criticism? Don't be silly This is Obama propaganda central, and anti Tea Party central. The full court press is already on, as prime propagandist Wolf Blitzer made clear this satruday afternoon with his assertion that both the American people AND Standard and Poors are blaming the Tea Party for the political impasse that supposedly led to this downgrade. This was as CNN was taking the positoin that it was WRONG to assert "blame" for where we are, since we all need t come together. But Wolf Blitzeer is one of those worst hypocrites who has ever walked the Earth, on The Hypocrite Network (another well earned nickname of The Liar Network). The next five months or so are going to make George Orwell's "2984" look like a socity that respected truth, in comparison with the concetrated PROPAGANDA we are going to get from the mainstream media (in preparation for the even more inteense campaign of 2012).
Where does partisan hack Gloria Borger come in? Oh, my poor head. The sacrifices I make for you readers out there (few as you may be--an exclusive bunch is how I like to look at you). I listened to the first part of that Obama speech on Friday, even though it gave me whiplash and an extreme headache (see th blog article). And this Saturday, I listened to Gloria Borger, plaing her role of partisan political hack to the hilt, as she inflicted what feels like bleeding in the brain on me. My poor head is still throbbing from the absurdities produced from the twisted, partisan brain of Gloria Borger (trying to sput the party line, but too stupid to have it make any sense at all). Let me explain, even though it makes my head hurt further to do so.
Lucretia Borger--oops! I got mixed up with the supposed vicious woman of the Borgias, although Will Durant would suggest she got something of a bum rap, which Gloria Borger is not getting)--Gloria Borger said this: "it is obvious that what we need (from this super committee) is tax reform. If we can reduce the top rates, we can close loopholes. Then it will be possible to let the Bush tax cuts expire for the rich."
I want you to read that quoted material again. Slowlly. Why should I be the only one to suffer an extreme HEADACHE. I assure you that I have quoted her accurately, if not exactly word for word. Let me see if I can untangle this for you (hard as it is with this kind of absurdity).
First, the CNN idea of "tax reform" (as previously shown in this blog, including in a previous article involving Gloria Borger) is TAX INCREASES. That includes TAX RATE INCREASES on the wealthy (as Obama has said he will impose, even if it takes a veto---presumably meaning that Obama wants tax increases so bad that he will allow increases in taxes for the middle class, rather than let Republicans continue tax rates as they are).
Okay. Tax INCREASES are the CNN/Borger/Obama position. That has been there position all along, and there is no "coming together" there. And we KNOW that the whole idea is to DISGUISE this by calling it "tax reform". The Obama Debt Commission idea of "tax reform" was to LOWER the top income tax RATE on wealthy individuals AND corporations, to as low as 25%, while actually adding revenue by closing loophole and "tax expenditures" (such as the veteran "tax credit" that Obama proposed on Friday, and the already existing "green" tax credits of Obama). Problem with Alan Simpson and the Debt Commissioin: They get a LARGE PART of their "savings" from ELIMINATING the mortgage interest deductioni, which will KILL the housing industry (plus, Congress does NOT have the courage to do it, and Obama has not endoresed it). There are all kinds of other "sacred cows" in those "tax expenditures". Ignore that. The whole idea of "tax reform" is to LOWER TAX RATES ON THE WEALTHY (and other people who pay any significant taxes), as lpart of a SIMPLE tax system where growth is eoncouraged because NO ONE (including the "rich) will pay more than about 1/4 of their income in income taxes. People chosen as "winners" by Congress will have to give up their"special" deal (loophole/tax expenditure), but we will ALL win because we will ALL be treated (somewhat) FAIRLY in a SIMNPLE tax system. Now Alan Simpson thinks we can RAISE REVNUE as part of "tax reform", by not using ALL of the "tax expenditure" savings to lower rates. Dream on. But I actually AGREE that we can RAISE REVENUE with tax reform, WITHOUT "building in" a tax increase. It is virtually certain that a SIMPLE, low-rate tax sysem would ENCOURAGE GROWTH. And no less an authority that President Obama (see Friday's article) has confirmed that is the way out of our present fiscal mess in the end).
We KNOW that CNN and Gloria Borger do NOT mean to adopt the type of "tax reform" I have referenced above. Nor do they think President Obama--OPPOSED to low tax RATES for the "rich"--is gong to endorse lowering the TAX RATES for the "rich". But what can Gloria Borger possibly mean? There HAS to be some sort of leftist deception out there that Borger is referenceing. But I have to admit I don't know what it is. Look again at what I quoted. Borger is saying that she is talking about "tax reform" REDUCING "top tax rates". Okay. That is what I have described above, and I think I have described it farily as the conventional view of "tax reform" There are arguments over whether ALL of the revenue obtained from eliminating "tax expenditures" should be applied to lower rates, and there are arguments over what the lower rates should be. But the general concept is clear, and Borger APPEARED to be referencing that concept (reference to "lowering top rates"). Yet, she CANNOT be referencing real "tax reform". This is where extreme BRAIN INJURY is possible if you read the quoted Borger statements over and over again. In the same brath, Borger says lthat "tax reform" (lowering rates) should enable reasonable people to accept the idea of LETTING THE BUSH TAX CUTS EXPIRE FOR THE RICH.
Say what? This is nonsense--absurd--insane--brain injury producing. The whole idea is that if we have "tax reform", the whole argument over the Bush "tax cuts" GOES AWAY. Was that what Borger was trying to say, and just too dumb to say it? I don't think so. I don't think Borger and CNN think that Obama and the Democrats are gong to accept a 25% (or whatever) top tax rate on the "rich", even if we will still be collecting the same (or more) overall tax revenues. Notice that "tax reform" would NOT mean that the "Bush tax cuts" "expire". It would REPLACE the Bush tax cuts with even LOWER RATES, by using increased revenue from eliminating "tax expenditures". I, and most conservatives, FAVOR this approach. I am morally certain that CNN and Gloria Borger do not. They want to use the TERM "tax reform", but they intend that to be PROPAGANDA DECEPTION. If I am wronging Borger on this (not likely), then she needs to get where she can actually EXPLAIN the idea of "tax reform". The idea is that someone like my lawyer daughter in New York City, working 80-90 hour weeks (at times), with the potential of pretty high salary with no deductions, will not lpay more than 25% of her income in taxes. Right now, Obama wants her to pay (if her salary rises because of her hard work) 40% of her income in taxes. Add NYC taxes and NY state taxes, and my daughter may end up paying a 60% tax rate as a "reward" for working so hard. If Borger gets where she can explain this, I will stop calling her a partisan political hack.
Nope. Borger will never get there. She IS a dishonest, partisan political hack. You can't understand what she is saying, because it is all LEFTIST DECEPTION. There is a REASON Obama did not embrace the Debt Commission report. For Obama and the Democrats, the "rich" represent a CLASS WARFARE campaign gift which keeps on giving--the same attitude that DESTROYED the Roman Republic (with more excuse, since the rich were much more powerful and arrogant). CLASS WARFARE is all Obama knows, and he is not going to give it up Even if he wanted to, Democrats are not. 50% of the people in this country now pay NO income taxes, and Democrats are ultimately relying on that class warfare fact to prevail.
You will NOt hear Borger, or the peope of CNN, talking abut the evils of class warfare, or the fallacy of relying on imosing more taxes on ever fewer people to support the country. Ayn Rand exposed this--extreme as she then appeared--more than 50 years ago. Rand accurately noted that there is a very dstructive idea that the masses can rely on reducing a very few people to SLAVERY--applying the talent of a few to suuport everyone else. As Ayn Rand said, this does not work. It cannot work. The "rich" eventually rebel, just like the "ppor" may rebel if they are treated too badly. The idea of this country was that indiviual merit would be rewarded in a free market system, such that the "ppor" can become rich. In any event, this is the system most likely to create a big enough pie for all, without class warfare. Ayn Rand suggested that human nature would win out--Rand being even more pessimistic and cynical than I am--despite lthe "freedoms" we supposedly have. Rarely has one person seen the future so clearly . As Obama made clear with Joe the Plumber, this is not even about REVENUE. This is about taking from the "rich", and giving.........not to the poor, but to EVERYONE ELSE.
I can't tell you how bad an idea it is to rely on ever fewer people to suport everyone else. As stated, it is not just that this does not work, although history has shown it does not. It CANNOT WORK.
I will be like CNN, and invite Gloria Borger to respond, or anyone on her behalf. I know. It is a fraud when CNN does that--as is true of the ploy by any other "news" organization. The idea is to trap someone into adding to your stature, and diminishing theirs. Too many Republicans and conservatives fall for this ploy. Still, I am a member of the "media". I rejet the idea that the Consitution was meant only to apply to the "mainstream media", when it refers to the "press". That is a mainstream media lie. Therefore, I feel perfectly justified in suggesting Borger and the people of CNN are cowards for not responding to this blog. I am aware that I am undermining my own request by explaining the ploy. But ther is a difference between me and CNN: I am HONEST, and WANT people to understand exactly what is going on.
P.S. No proofreading or spell checking (bad eyesight). I don't know what Borger's excuse is for being totally inchoherent. She needs one.
