Yes, one of the more annoying stories of recent years has returned--played by the despicable Associated Press as an anti-Iraq War story rather than, correctly, as an anti-State Deparment stoty. Further, it is NOT an anti-State Departments story because of the "pressuring", but because of what it says about the total wimps in the State Department.
This is the story about how some State Department diplomats are making an issue about being "pressured" to go to Iraq.
So our soldiers, and even private Americans, die in Iraq, but State Department people are too "good" to go to Irq, when it is part of their JOB to go places like that--where they are not in much danger anyway?
Sorry. NO sympathy here (even if I had not used up all sympathy I was born with at age 10). . These people SHOULD face adverse consequences for wanting only "cushy" assignments of their choice.
If you join the U.S. military, you have to expecct that you may be sent to places you would rather not go. If you work for the U.S. State Department, you should expect the same thing. It is simply ridiculous to think that your career should not be affected by refuseing to accept that.
