CBS is promoting an "immigration nation" series next week. Question: Will it be merely anther PROPAGANDA series intended to DECEIVE about illegal immigration. (See the more than 50 entires in the archives of this blog under the heading of "Illegal Immigration Deception".)
Now you may be encouraged by the promotion I have seen about women from Mexico (usually) coming to the United States to have their babies (thereby making them automatically citizens, even when the father and mother are citizens of Mexico, or soome other country). The CBS promotion intones: "And YOU are paying for it."
Problem: This is NOT "news". I have been telling you for at least two years about the women who camp outside of the El Paso County Hospital. In my entries on "illegal immigration deception", I have told you of the INSANITY of the outdated "policy" that all children born on U.S. soil are automatically U.S. ciitzens--a "policy" that no one seems to actually defend, but where attempts to CHANGE it are effortlessly BLOCKED--talk about needed "change"!!!!).
Yes, we PAY for the alien women to have their babies here. But they would probably not do it except for this really stupid "policy" that their babies will automatically become U.S. citizens.
It is NOT an "enocuraging" sign that CBS thinks this is "news". MANY people (not just me) have tried to raise this issue for a long time. Is CBS going to clearly explain that the problem could probably be CURED by changing the stupid rule on U.S. citizenship? Or is the whole CBS series likely to be a "tease": promising "straight talk" on illegal immigration rather than actually delivering straight talk.
I know which way I am betting.
P.S. If you have not guessed, I have no intention of actually watching the CBS series. CBS has to do much better than this promises to be, over a long period of time, before I will ever be interested in watching CBS again. I refuse to be "teased" into watcing a series that I expect will contain little "straight talk". I will have to rely on you people out there, willing to watch CBS, as to whether CBS really departed from the standard mainstream media propaganda on illegal immigration. Don't hold your breath.

The American tax paying citizens are just dumb arse holes, yes even me. We let this problem go on and on and on, with out ever demanding the impeachment of these do nothing congressmen and women and the self serving politicians that we are paying dearly for, they are supposed to be representing the American tax paying citizens but by doing nothing they are representing the illegal's that are sucking us dry.
I appreciate the comment and obviously agree with the general viewpoint (that we have LET this happen to us--"we", the public). I will say that "impeachment" is a remedy only against the President, and the problem is that no one politician is the problem. President Bush is bad on the issue of illegal immigration, but the candidates for President are ALL as bad, or worse. Obama and Clinton are hopeless. McCain is the co-author of McCain-Kennedy.
The answer is, of course, to VOTE members of Congress out of office. But we have FAILED to do that. Illegal immigration was NOT a major, vote determinative issue in the 2006 elections. Many anti-illegal immigration candidates got nowhere. Further, it has NOT been a major, vote determinative issue in the Presidential campaign. Otherwise, McCain would not be the Republican nominee. I blame Republicans for not making the importance of the issue clear, and even UNDERMIING those attempting to do so (President Bush and McCain, as Democrat politicians remain hopeless--yearning for "immigrant" VOTES).
Yes, I think a lOT of people are disturbed by this. Yet, the outrage is UNFOCUSED, and seemingly has not yet been translated into VOTES. That is sad. I wish I knew what to do about it. I do think that, at some point, the people will rise up in REVOLT. Will it be too late?
