Obama and Prozac

What is Barack Obama like Prozac?

Answer:  Both of them make you feel good, without doing you anything substantively for you.

Come to think of it, this may explain BOTH the popularity of Xanax, Prozac, AND the popularity of Barack Obama.  People like to feel good.  It is HARD to deal with depression, or simply not feeling good.  It is HARD to deal SUBSTANTIVELY with public policy problems.  It is HARD to evaluate which candidate will provide the best substantive approach to our real problems.  Does it not FEEL BETTER to tak Prozac, or Barack Obama's feel good rhetoric, rather than the HARD alternative?

I think so.  To me that is dangerous.  Our dependence (as a society) on "feel good" drugs like Xanax and Prozac is worrisome.  Our willingness to flock to a "feel good" candidate like Obama is DANGEROUS.

This entry, by the way, did NOT come out of the air.  It arose out of the next entry (written first).
