Italians: Garlic Noses?

No one could make this stuff up.  This is what the Reverend Jeremiah Wright said, IN PRINT, in the November/December issue of Trumpet Newsmagazine (in a eulogy, no less):

"(Jesus') enemies had their opinion about Him," Wright wrote in a eulogy of the late scholar Asa Hilliard in the November/December 2007 issue. "The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."

Wright continued, "From the circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth (in a barn in a township that was under the Apartheid Roman government that said his daddy had to be in), up to and including the circumstances surrounding Jesus' death on a cross, a Roman cross, public lynching Italian style. ...

Garlic noses?  Hillary Clinton is right.  NO white politician could get away with having a mentor and pastor like this for 20 years.  Nor is it believable that Barack Obama was not aware of the kind of hate that is in Jeremiah Wright.  Whether Obama was at every sermon, or heard Wright say directly ALL of these despicable things, it is impossible to believe that Obama was not substantially aware of the truly outrageous type of things that Wright has been saying--even more unbelievable than that Hillary Clinton really remembered being under "sniper fire".

Remember the criticism of Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ" for allegedly blaming the Crucifixion on the Jews?  Well, Reverend Wright is not far away from that.  Remember Pontius Pilate and the mob who chose who would die?   Wright is perfectly willing to SMEAR all Italians, even to the point of using and ethnic slur.  Were ITALIANS (as an ethnic group) responsible for the treatment of Christ?  Only if you believe in "group guilt".  Reverend Wright obviously does.

This was Barack Obama's MENTOR, and Obama stayed in this church for 20 years.  He exposed his daughters to this hate speech.  He had no problem with other African-Americans being TAUGHT this kind of hate.  Obama, by his own admission, did NOTHING about it.  He stayed with the church.

Barack Obama has not shown, outside of camapaign speeches, any devotion to racial harmony--much less opposition to racial hate.  His actions have shown the opposite.  Speeches--especially campaign speeches--do not make up for a lifetime of being part of the problem.  If Obama had made a speech while in the Illinois legislature noting that this kind of hatred was destructive to black people, and distanced himself from Reverend Wright, I would give him some credit.

For Obama to give mere speeches on racial harmony NOW, to try to get elected President, impresses me not at all.

You know, for being a lawyer, Barack Obama isn't very bright.  His failure to distance himself from both the pseudo Church known as the Trinity United Church of Christ and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright amounts to "accessory after the fact."  While the racism of Jeremiah Wright isn't a crime, Obama's failure to cease and desist amounts to giving him aid and comfort.  As each day goes by, Obama is driving more nails into his political coffin and putting the nomination within reach for Hillary.  It would appear that Obama's common sense is not on par with his oratory skills.

Yes..the comments are despicable.  How come, though, many miss the entire point of the nature of those controversial speeches at Trinity Church.  Missing, too, is the fact that most whites certainly know how "lively" and 'different" (as Obama has told us) they are.  NOT THE POINT!.

It is the leftist-political diatribe from that venue that is offensive--not people who are shouting or dancing in the aisles.  Nobody cares about that.

What would be key wouild be to have the two of them together (Rev. Wright and Obama)--for maybe a 20 minute "what are your thoughts on..."discussion.  This would be great.  A few starters:

     (1) What is your opinion of the Castro Regime and, while we're at it, how do you think Hugo Chavez is doing?
     (2) Your opinion on homosexuality as it compares to that of Minister Farakhan of the Nation of Islam?  Do you know how the Minister believes homosexuals should be treated in society?

That should be enough to get everyone going...

It has been painfully obvious that the mainstream media (which did NOT "break" the Reverend Wright story and is still--other than Fox--doing its best to downplay it) has NOT been asked any "hard" questions.  The mainstream media has pretty much given him a total pass--willing to accept mere words over record, experience and actions.

It is not only "racial unity" where Obama's words do not match his actions.  He keeps getting credit for wanting to "bring us together" POLITICALLY, when there is NO EVIDENCE that he has actually tried to do that.

John McCain, for example, can actually claim (more to his discredit, in my view, than to his credit--but represented by actual ACTIONS) to have "reached across the aisle" to Democrats on many things:  McCain/Kennedy; McCain/Feingold; McCain/Lieberman.  Barack Obama has no record at all of trying to "bring us together"--by most accounts compiling the MOST liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate during his time there.

As I have suggested, where are the questions to Obama about the endless Henry Waxman "investigations" in Congress; the threats by d
Democrats in Congress to CRIMINALLY prosecute CIA agents acting for this country after 9/11 (waterboarding, whether it is a good or bad idea); and the endless other Congressional attacks by Democrats on their opponents.  Obama is NEVER asked whether he regards such actions as "bringing us together."
