The above, of course, does not represent a scientific "study", although it is in the grand tradition of the racist "studies"/leftist, racist social "scientist" and media propaganda that was awarded last week's Flying, Fickle Finger of Fate (see the weekend entries).
The above merely represents the "Anti-American, Despicable Associated Press" (always use official name in first reference), in its role as a propaganda arm for leftist, anti-American organizations. The above was , in fact, a ridiculous press release by two extreme leftist, anti-American organizations with a double barreled agenda: to label the U.S. as a racist (a case of projection there), and to label "spanking" as a "human rights" issue (only a leftist kook would look at the issue that way). Yes, the ridiculous (a parody of itself) ACLU would dearly love making spanking by PARENTS a "human rights" issue (while, of course, condoning infanticide (see previous entries this week--ACLU being in the same class as PPlanned Parenthood).
I have a niece who is a teacher. My two daughters went through public schools. You know as well as I do that teachers (or others) generally do NOT "spank" children in public schools anymore. When I grew up, I was spanked a time or two in school, and it was commonplace. Almost no lparent, or child, would even have thought of it as a "human rights" issue. Now it is a matter of LIBABILITY. What public school (private schools are VOLUNTARY) are insane enough to risk the liability problems of spanking? Verty few, I think. The problem today is generally the opposite. My niece, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is frustrated by the IMPOSSIBILITY of imposing any kind of discipline, or ven failing students. Plus, parents routinely complain about teachers about "mistreatment" of their darling children. The school administration is generally so paranoid that it gives little support to the teachers on the front lines.
What idiot thinks that school spanking is an important "problem" in modern American? Only leftist idiots wanting to trash America over everything,no mater how stupid.
"okay, you say, I understand this is stupid, but why is it racist (that is, the "STUDY", the AP, the ACLU and Human Rights Watch are racist, as are most leftists).
Look at the ASSUMPTION of this "study" (which did NOT, by the way, involve a real "study" of real classrooms). What does it mean to say that "minority"" students receive a "disproportionate" number of "swats". The assumption is that each minority group should receive the SAME number of "seats", AS A RACIAL OR ETHNIC GROUP, without regard for whether each individual deserved each swat. This is a RACIST assumption. It is advocating a QUOTA for "swats".
This is the same old racist/Reverend Wright mind set that the world, and certainly the U.S., are composed of competing racial/ethnic GROUPS rather than individuals, which ignores that you can't even define the groups. This advocacy of assigning rights and responsibilities to racial/ethnic GROUPS rather than individuals is the very essence of racism.
This "study" supposedly used "data" from the Department of Education, rather than any kind of reliable scientific study of actual schools. If you believe that Education Department data on SPANKING is reliable, then you are even more stupid than the ACLU (which does not care--being interested only in PROPAGANDA to increase racial tensions in the country). How is this "data" compiled? You can bet it is some sort of POLL with no reliability or meaning--itself being instituted by bureaucrats under pressure from leftists to try to compile this kind of racist assumption information.
Does this kind of propaganda really "help" minorities? Don't be silly. I can't imagine anything more HARMFUL than this encouragement of minorities to define themselves by their race/ethnicity--to regard themsekves as nothing but VICTIMS
P.S. If you think the above has antything to do with the merits, or lack of mreit, of merits, of spanking in child rearing, then I can't help you. Your thinking has been distorted/twisted beyond repair.
P.S. 2: This story again proves that Fox News is part of the PROBLEM, and NOT part of the SOLUTION. Yes, Fox News presented this leftist propaganda story with a straight face, as if it were not obvious propaganda--INCLUDING both the allegation that this is a major issue of race in this country AND the obligatory (stupid) "human interest" segment about children "humilated" and "bruised" by being smacked in school. Look again at the beginning of this entry, where I correctly stated the leftist agenda behind this nonon-story. You doubt it is a non-story? Fox buired in its story, since it does not fit the propaganda, that only 21 Aermican states even ALLOW corporal punishment in public schools. In those 21 states, of course, MOST schools surely do not want to expose themselves to falk on corporal punishment. As a "national" problem, this is NOTHING. As a national "story", it is all about an anti-American, racist, leftist agenda in the "news" media, and NOT about real problems in "human rights" or racial relatons.
